Tunes Review: U2's No Line on the Horizon

image "Classic U2 sound," according to the charming and beautiful Susan. The album's title matches the stories Bono tells: there's no telling where this journey is going. I'll agree with reviewers that say this isn't U2's best. But I'm also saying that this is a great album and it definitely lives up to and even exceeds U2 standards.

The more I listen to it, the more I love it. I'm listening to it right now so I can write something catchy about the tunes, but I'm caught up in listening to the first track and looking for the lyrics...

"I know a girl with a hole in her heart

She said infinity is a great place to start

Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh"

The Edge shred's signature licks in Magnificent. You'll think of "Sunday Bloody Sunday" when you spin this one.

Get the album. The whole thing rocks. You're level of affection for this CD will increase with each revolution.

I totally agree... thought the whole album is great. I'm wondering (cynically?) how long it will take a christian band to do a not-nearly-as-good cover of "Magnificent."

please, j a n. the author of this blog reserves the right to be cynical for himself.

but it won't take long for rip-off's to abound.

I can take cynicism to new heights --or lows depending on my mood. I'm on the second time through "No Line on the Horizon" and am thinking you are right.
