They Grow Up... Then what?

I sat in on a meeting with my son today and was impressed. He produces videos that promote Kingdom Causes. He listens, he probes, he gathers information, and then sets expectations and deadlines. His poise and maturity, quite frankly, blow my mind. This is a home educated kid. I can't figure out what we did right.

The kid has heart. He has passion for God. He wants to make a real difference in the world. A father wants his son to do better; to have more of handle on the world. This kid is on track.

"I can't figure out what we did right." Well, for one thing, you home-schooled him.

When I was teaching at our community college, I had at least one home-schooled student in a class nearly every semester. There may have been more, but the ones I knew about were among the top couple of students, every time--not always the best writers, but more than adequate and excellent students.

Around here, parents need only to register their children as home-schooled; they aren't required to use any curriculum, establish a minimum number of hours of study per day, or anything. But those who truly *school* their children reap solid rewards. Congratulations to you and the charming and beautiful Susan!

Home schooled and, at least for a season, a MK!

It's been such a privilege and a blessing to watch Aaron grow up into the man he is today.
