Kudos to Warren

Rick Warren's got everyone mad at him. Conservatives are cussin'. Fundamentals are fumin'. Liberals are livid. Warren's stirred up a hornets nest by accepting the invitation.

I, for one, am proud of Warren and glad to see Obama reaching out and continuing an ongoing dialogue of faith in the public arena. For twenty years I've been praying for a positive, constructive, and productive outworking of faith in politics. I'm amazed that it's a Democrat taking the lead reaching out to a leader that traditionally supports Republican policies.

Be careful. You just might get what you pray for.

I share your opinion on Warren's invitation and acceptance. I've read some negative comments from conservatives, "assuming" that Obama's invitation was politically motivated. Those comments strike me as sour grapes, and I would think conservatives would be praising God that one of his spokesmen has been given this opportunity. Even if the President-elect meant it for political expediency, God can use Warren's presence and prayer for His own purposes and to His own glory.

Sheeesh, one of the most humble, kind, genuine guys and he gets such cr*p thrown at him. Unbelievable! Rick Warren is a man of integrity and it irritates me the assumptions folk make about him. Bryon, amen to all you said!

I humbly disagree. How can anyone ask God to bless a man who supports the wholesale murder of the unborn? This man Obama is dangerous, as I believe, time with prove.

Anonymous: this is disagreeing, but not humbly. It is not humble to call Obama a dangerous murderer and to go further and say that Warren supports said dangerous murderer. Inflammatory; yes. Alarmist; definitely. Humble; not.

Try not to be anonymous when making such statements. It's like throwing rocks and then running away. Stand up for what you think by at least leaving your name.

I did not vote for Obama, but God's Word says He puts every king or ruler in his position, for His own purposes. So, God "voted." Now, I'm responsible for praying for God to lead, guide (add all the synonyms you can think of) and pour His wisdom into our next President.

You have no idea what a challenge it has been for me to reach this point. But whining and bitter complaining serve no good purpose, so....

Vicki:
If that's the case, I'm glad I voted with God...

Mr/Ms. Anonymous might want to read 1 Timothy 2:1-2 sometime, and realize that Warren is fulfilling the command of scripture. Ignorance of the Scriptures is an embarrassment to the pro-life position.
