New Kicks

"Wait a minute, Mr. Postman!..."

Our helpful neighborhood letter carrier dropped off these little Chuck Taylor Converse All-stars today.

I told Allie that Pop-pop used to style in these exact shoes when he was little - and when he was thirty-five. And maybe he'll get a matching pair on his next birthday when he's 43.

Allie may have rolled her eyes at that idea. "Oh grow up." I'm pretty sure she did. The charming and beautiful Susan definitely did.

"They're timeless," I said.

"As is your immaturity."

Anyway, thanks Ebay.

And most of all, thank you, Grandma Ruth.

I just love seeing this little girl laugh! And is it just the pic's, or does she look at you guys more than she used to?

Those shoes are awesome. I have a pair of vans that I will be wearing when I'm at the warped tour on Saturday. I love sneakers.

Bryon, "growing up" is over rated, in my opinion. I am 58 and have owned red high tops, purple high tops and will buy a black pair when finances permit. Converse, of course! If I had the funds right now, I'd buy you a pair! So.....when you buy yourself a pair, don't forget to buy a pair for Susan, too! :o)

Personally, I feel black hightops are exempt from all criticism simply because they're so awesome cool. And classic.
