Ali's Best Day

Right now, Ali is up and the beautiful and charming Susan is trying to get her to sleep. Ali's about an hour overdue for night-night. Today has been the best day yet for Ali. She's been agitated very little today. Your prayers are definitely at work.

The best time to work with Ali or do therapy with her is when she is not agitated. When agitated, she has too much adrenaline pumping and she's not able to learn. Her brain needs the down time to rejuvenate and reprogram. So this is how you can pray.

Bryon,
Thanks for the honesty in your feelings so we can keep your hands lifted up during this battle and their will be victory because Christ overcame this at the cross. we are here as a body just as Aaron and Hur lifted up Moses arms in battle as long as his arms were up the were winning. thanks you have so many answered prayers to keep you encouraged and remember Jesus longs to intercede for you and the Father loves to give Jesus what he wants. so lets keep asking for the impossible.

I wish I knew who said this: "When God wants to do something wonderful, He starts with the difficult. When He wants to do something miraculous, He starts with the impossible."

I'm so glad you all had a better day, yesterday, and am praying as you said.

Bryon,
Here's another thing that Im adding to my prayer list for you. Im praying that you get a new shirt.
It looks like you're still wearing the same one from 20 years ago.
I have socks that old....but not shirts...you got me on that one.

I got that sweet baby blue Banana Republic long-sleeve pull over this past Christmas... a gift from my son. It's nice to see some styles recycle back through every couple of decades. I hope we don't see that hair style you used to wear with those old shirts and socks from twenty years ago, though :-)

Bryon--I thank God for an encouraging day. I know you all really needed it. I pray there will be many more to come!!

When my yougest son, Jamie was a baby he had colic. He would cry and cry, and nothing would sooth him. One day I noticed he didn't cry when I was running the vacuum. I know it sounds crazy, but it really helped. I started plugging in the vacuum and setting it next to him. It gave me a little peace. I don't know if it will work for Ali, but it couldn't hurt to try. LOL

Michele:
Thanks for the note. When Ali was a newborn, she would fall asleep to the sound of chores being done in the kitchen I always thought that was weird.

But now, since her brain trauma, what seems to works best for her is laying face-to-face with one of us so she can feel the breath of someone who loves her on her face. After she falls asleep, we sneak her into her crib and tip-toe out of the room. The slightest little mouse peep agitates her...

I hope someday, someway she remembers me falling asleep with her and she is comforted by closeness in the future...

Dear Bryon,
I think of you often and will continue to pray...don't be too hard on yourself. Nothing (not things past, present or future) can separate you from the love of God in Christ.

Blessings my brother,

Bryon--I know this is so difficult. I'm sure Ali is aware of, and will remember, the love you and Susan have poured over her. I am so glad she has you to love her after what she's been through. I know God has a plan for Ali. I pray that the Lord will comfort her and calm her little heart so that she can begin to learn and heal.
