Speed Racer Movie

speed It finally happened. Trixie, Speed, Racer-X, and Sparky, have reunited for Speed Racer The Movie. How cool is that? I can't wait till May 9th.

What was your favorite cartoon when you were a kid? If they made it a movie, would you go see it?

"beany and cecil" was my favorite as a small child. even had one of those propeller hats. :) you would pull the string and propeller would go flying off....usually into the neighbor's yard. also loved "george of the jungle"...and yes, they did make a movie of that and yes, i did see it....more than a few times (on video)..and yes, thought it was very tongue-in-cheek amusing.

It's Mr. Magoo for me. And yes, I would certainly go see it, even if I had trouble finding someone to go with me!

They've already done Scooby-Doo and Fat Albert, but Speed Racer is a welcome addition to that list. I just hope they did it right. I'm looking forward to seeing this one.

What about Johnny Quest--The Movie? Skipping school, defeating evil communist scientists...the original, ofcourse. Best cartoon soundtrack ever, and if they do the movie they MUST keep the soundtrack, and the 1969 level of technology/science fiction (lots of death lasers).

I was big on Bullwinkle, but the movie disappointed.

darlene: I love you, but don't even start to think that Alvin's chipmunks are in the same category as Speed Racer. the chipmunks are NERF BALL compared to Speed...

I agree. They aren't in the same category. I just think singing chipmunks are cooler than car racing. The movie for Speed Racer looks really cool. I have to admit even though I don't think I ever watched the cartoon I will have to check out the movie.
