Everybody's jumping on board...

This afternoon, Ali's speech therapist came by to work with Ali and evaluate her ability to swallow formula and food. Deb, our speech therapist dipped Ali's pacifier in formula an gave her a taste, and then dipped the pacifier in some baby food. Ali was surprised by the new flavors. She also did some work on a bottle.

Deb's evaluation is that Ali is protecting her air ways; that is, Ali reflexively does not allow food to go down the wrong pipe. But this is all very new and Ali will need to practice this for awhile before it becomes a regular way of eating. What's cool is that Ali was able to do this on the first try.

Susan: I just read through the blogs. I just want you to know that my husband and I have been praying for you guys. I read how "freaked out" you get and how frustrating it is going through the trials you are now experiencing.

Remember last March 2006, when my husband died twice & was in a coma and on life support for 5 days? I was unable to even pray at that point. What got me through the most was knowing that you and the other women in our Women's Bible Study group were praying for us. That is when I truly experienced what it felt like when intercessors are praying for you.

I pray that you will experience, right now, the same feeling that I did back then. That you will feel the calmness and peace, and rest in the comfort, knowing that we are all back here in FL doing that intercessory praying for you and lifting you up. We are filling in the gap with prayer, when you are at your worst moment of not being able to even pray.

Bryon: You came and prayed for my husband when he was in ICU. You didn't even know us and we had not even started attending Calvary Chapel yet, but you still were obedient to God and came and prayed for healing of my husband. His miracle of life happened!

And now I want to be obedient to God and pray for you right now that you also will experience the mighty hand of God perform a life miracle in Ali's life. I pray that HE performs the miracle of strength for you and Susan and Charity. I also pray that God will grant you the required amount of sleep that you need in order to function daily.

God Bless All of you.

Good going, Ali! Picture me with a huge smile! Okay, it might be hard for you to picture me, really, given that you've seen me once (at the airport in Minneapolis-St. Paul, last August), but just picture a big smile, anyway!

Vicki:

you forget that at that conference where we met, we were in that class together learning about blogs... and each other's blogs.

plus I watched you receive honors from Compassion...

so I definitely know what you look like with a smile on your face :-)

Praise God! Even though I have never met you, I pray for little Ali and all of you as He steps in and strengthens you. God will get the glory out of this as the battle belongs to Him. May the peace of God that passes all understanding guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus our Lord.
